Document numbering

Configure numbering lines before creating documents that use them. Open the counters in settings, review the format and next value, and select the appropriate line for the document or transaction type.

Use separate lines where your business needs separate sequences. Check a sample identifier before issuing documents. A document number and an accounting transaction number can serve different purposes; changing a rule does not rewrite previously issued records.

Accounting transaction types can assign numbers manually, on creation or after posting, according to their configuration. Review the numbering line alongside the default account in Chart of accounts and posting defaults.

For issued documents that need changing, use Credits and corrections.
